Resoloy® Foundry at MeKo

In 2011, MeKo introduced Resoloy® (resorbable alloy ), a self-developed bioresorbable magnesium alloy for scaffolds and other applications. For several months now, we have our own foundry to ensure the best possible control over the melting process and final quality while ensuring internal supply.

The melting of Resoloy® is a complex process. Melting time and temperatures have to follow a strict protocol and the alloying elements have to be melted in a predetermined sequence. Furthermore, the final solidification procedure is clearly defined to achieve the best grain structure with low amounts of impurities and casting defects.
