Steel

Steel is a versatile material composed of an iron alloy with a carbon content of less than 2.06%. By adding various alloying elements and reducing impurities, different steel grades can vary in their strength, corrosion resistance, formability, weldability, and temperature behavior.
This group of materials is indispensable in many industries. There is a suitable alloy for almost every application, whether in** housing construction, bridge construction, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, the automotive industry**, or medical technology. Steel is also environmentally friendly, as it can be repeatedly recycled.

Stainless Steel
Properties and Applications of Stainless Steel
Stainless steels are characterized by the reduction of certain impurities and trace elements such as hydrogen, sulfur, and phosphorus, allowing for precise control of desired alloy properties. In these high-purity steels, the maximum sulfur and phosphorus content is 0.02% each.
Often, the terms "stainless steel" and "high-grade steel" are used interchangeably, which is not entirely accurate. High-grade steels with a carbon content of less than 1.2% and a chromium content of more than 10.5% are referred to as stainless steels. Not every stainless steel is a high-grade steel.
The addition of various alloying elements can specifically influence hardness, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, tensile strength, elasticity, and/or heat resistance. When one of these properties is particularly required, stainless steel is the first choice. With these characteristics, stainless steel is a true all-rounder and is used in many fields, from plant engineering to the food industry and medical technology.
